The Morristown Art Association

The Morristown Art Association is an organization dedicated to the  support of visual artists and their work. The MAA meets monthly at the Rose Center on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. even if there are five Tuesdays in a month. The MAA does not meet in June as there is a member picnic and in December since it is too close to Christmas when Rose Center is closed.

Among other activities, the MAA sponsors or Co-sponsors a high school art show,  an annual juried show, a members' show and painting workshops, and speakers or demonstrators at the monthly meeting. We also issue a monthly challenge (listed on the Calendar)to paint for each meeting. We then have a show and tell after the business meeting.  This encourages members to paint something that may be different from their normal genre.

The MAA has provided an outstanding show of art and music at "Arts in the Park" at the Martin Luther King, Jr. park on 9th street for 15 years. We have only been weathered out twice. It has provided the surrounding community the opportunity to become familiar with loacal artists when over 1,000 people show up on the 3rd Saturday in September.
In November of 2019, we dislpayed at the new Heritage park which was once the home of Morristown College.

Membership is open to anyone who simply has an interest in art.  One does not need to be an artist.  For individuals the fee is $25 annually and must be paid before the beginning of the next year if you wish to receive the benefits of membership as discounts or free things.

The family membership is for families that live in the same household and give the family membership two votes  as members.  The fee is $35
