Morristown Art Association is an organization dedicated to the support of visual artists and their work. The MAA meets monthly
at the Rose Center on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00
P.M. even if there are five Tuesdays in a month. The MAA does not meet in June as there is a member picnic and in December since it is too close to Christmas when Rose Center is closed.
Among other activities, the MAA sponsors or Co-sponsors a high school art show, an annual juried
show, a photography show, a members' show and painting
workshops, and speakers or demonstrators at the monthly meeting. We also issue a monthly challenge for a painting. This encourages members to paint something that may be different from their normal genre.
The MAA has provided an outstanding show of art and music at "Arts in the Park" at the Martin Luther King, Jr. park on 9th street for 10 years. We have only been rained out once. It has provided MAA the opportunity to becomne familiar
to the surrounding community when over 1,000 people show up on the 3rd Saturday in September.
